และใช้ CQ Zone นั้นเป็นสิ่งแลกเปลี่ยนในการแข่งขัน
สำหรับการแข่งขันรายการที่จัดโดยนิตยสารฯ และหมายเลข CQ Zone นี้ก็เป็นที่นิยมที่จะพิมพ์ไว้เพื่อการอ้างอิงใน QSL CARD ของนักวิทยุสมัครเล่นทุกคน
รายการแข่งขันที่ใช้
CQ Zone ในการแลกเปลี่ยน คือ CQ WW DX
CONTEST PHONE และ CQ WW DX CONTEST CW ซึ่งจะจัดแข่งขันในสัปดาห์สุดท้ายของเดือน
ตุลาคม และ พฤศจิกายน ของทุกปี (ตามลำดับ) เป็นการแข่งขันในย่านความถี่ HF ซึงจะมีนักวิทยุสมัครเล่นทั่วโลกให้ความสนใจเข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน หรือ Check
Log (หมายถึงการเข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน
แต่ไม่ประสงค์ที่จะต้องการรับรางวัล ส่ง LOG เพื่อให้ผู้จัดการแข่งขันใช้สำหรับตรวจสอบกับสถานีที่ติดต่อได้จริง)
